Default Samsung to get BBM service - Who's getting on the band wagon?

So as some of you might have read/heard via the grape vine, the once famous BBM service originally offered by Blackberry (previously known as RIMM - Research In Motion). Who of you feel that it will be a service to benefit the Samsung users? What are your thoughts and opinions on this?

Will you be sucked into the new world of BBM or do you think it will be a successful failure (See what I did there ).

I honestly feel that it won't get very far, purely because firstly Blackberry are trying to milk a dying cow and are well on their way out. With programs such as Whatsapp, MXit, Wechat, Skype, etc... (All free chat services I might add) are doing the world of good for us as it's become the norm for those of us who either moved away from Dingleberry or just never went down that rabbit hole to begin with.

BBM will probably become a charged service and that will be the ultimate and final downfall of Blackberry since it's not what tech consumers want anymore. We want more, things like more voice services at less of the cost of bandwidth etc... as well as many more things possibly to come in the future.

Ok let's say that the BBM service is of very minimal functionality eg: Just chat based, with nothing else added would you still regard it as a better platform than Whatsapp and the likes thereof??

In terms of the product? I think it's not bad move, because from what I've heard, people prefer BBM over WhatsApp (I doubt I'd make the change though). For the company though, it might not be the best thing, because I'd venture a guess and say it is one of the things that draw people to Blackberry phones (of course, BIS doesn't hurt).

I know it seems like a small thing, but a lot of small things may add up. They've already excluded BIS from their high end smartphones (can they rival offerings from Samsung, Apple, Sony, or HTC?), and now BBM is no longer an exclusive offering. So one might ask, why should I get a Blackberry? Anyway, I'm no guru, just a little something to think about.

Friends of mine and family members have BB's, so, as a result of that, I will probably get it.

so the really question is, why do you have a blackberry or why would you want a blackberry? I must say though their highend phone are pretty decent spec wise

A close friend to me has a BB, but that bloody thing keeps breaking on her.
I've advised her to switched to Android, since it's the superior OS.

I suppose everyone will have different opinions on these sorts of things eg: Whatsapp doesn't offer Gif images and various background flavors, whereas they do offer voice recorded chats and soon to be video chats (something on the level of skype by on the mobile platform only).

The poll doesnt make any sense ? is it a good or bad move for RIM ? is that what you are asking ? for me its a good move as there are a few mates of mine who die hard BBMers so i can itnegrate with them for RIM its a bad move yes it can now integrate with samsung but then when a current BB user upgrades his phoine what reason does he have to stay on BB, I mean majority of friends that i know that use BB's still say they do it just because they have all their BBM contacts there
