HIPS are a pain in the ass because they need to learn how all your applications work, and ask you to setup rules for how you wish to allow them. However once its done, and done correctly, its very difficult for hidden apps/software to install because the HIPS will always ask permission to allow it, giving you the chance to block it before it can start...this includes your registry. I have never had a virus or hack on my pc while running Kaspersky, however did when I chose to turn it off for something on a flashdrive....and had to re-format my pc
