RAM is always a great place to start (in a laptop), as you really can't upgrade much.
Later a ssd replacing the disc-drive is the next upgrade or a new hhd in place of disc drive.
(you can only do this if your games are from steam or origin)

That game runs on anythingYeah, Magicka does not work as smooth as Torchlight does, but it is at least playable, at least for me. I took a stab in the dark and installed Borderlands 2 on it last night and was quite surprised to find out it is playable as well, framerate is between 20 and 30, but it doesn't bother me that much. I know what I'll be doing during my lunch breaks from now on., even my 4 year old dell xps m1330 can run it !
