With all the junk floating around in the world of gaming, have you ever found something that everybody else slammed, but that you loved despite any flaws it had.
One game that comes to mind for me is Elf Bowling: Hawaiian Vacation. It's full of terrible puns and pop culture references that no-one should remember, it also runs at a very low resolution with no option to increase it or change any graphical setting whatsoever.
But blowing the annoying little elves of the level with a powered-up bowling ball was just satisfying enough to keep me coming back for more and I ended up spending hours playing it. Some of the power-ups you got were quite fun, and some could even be used against your opponent.
Another game that falls into this category would be Future Cop: LAPD. The name probably says it all, but you basically played as a cop in a futuristic hover car that you could transform at any time into a mech. Unfortunately I was never able able to finish this game, as it got too difficult for me at some stage, and I was never able to get it to work on more modern computers, but I had a lot of fun with it regardless.
So, please tell us all about any such games you enjoyed, why they sucked and why you loved them.
Don't be shy.
TL;DR: Have you ever enjoyed a game that everybody else thought was garbage, and why?
