I thought the new Duke Nukem was all right. I had never played it so went into playing it without any expectations.

Yea, it wasn't too bad. Yes, so it was dated technologically, but a solid shooter nonetheless. There were bits of it I enjoyed. I wouldn't say it was the worst game I've ever played (I'd actually have to go and sift through my games to find that one), but definitely a game that many others thought was garbage, critics above all.
I love Tiberian Sun. I played it not too long ago. I prefer Red Alert 2 though. I think I prefer the RA series in general.
I suppose there have been a few. Most recently though it was this one, Gaea Mission Carrier Command: http://store.steampowered.com/app/65740/
It didn't quite scratch the itch for HD Hostile Waters, but was still good enough to sink 15 hours into. Stupid story and FPS elements though.
The other was this one: http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/delta-force-xtreme
Once again, I was looking to scratch an itch. This time it was for another Joint Ops. While it didn't quite do it, I rather enjoyed that Delta Force. Unfortunately, that was the last one. The sequel was hooooorible.
Well you could have elaborated on your "".

No but essentially its an economic simulator like Anno. Except more horrible in every conceivable way. Also...seems to have been coded in German & translated...but the missed a few spots. I can speak German so not an issue, but still doesn't exactly scream quality.
I'm sure there are worse ones that I played, but those I drop fast. According to steam I've got 22 hrs logged on Patrician. Equal parts amazed & suspicious.
Tiberium - SP was very atmospheric. Nice. MP was legend...until it transparently replaces your LAN buddy with an AI & doesn't tell you. Half an hour later you realize you're not playing against each other anymore (flame tank rush).
Think it scored a 3, 5, 5 from gamespy, IGN, and gamespot.
Bad reviews, and THQ going under meant the end of that game's development.
No the license is stuck in limbo and the original devs don't make a cent from it.
All of the reviews were rushed, heavily inaccurate. Most of the complaint were also about the difficulty even though that got "fixed" later, although it was never really broken.
Think those reviewers all spend like 10 mins on that game, and that's pushing it, probably the most technical inaccurate, lack of substance reviews I've seen in my life.
I was (probably still am) a big fan of the Still Life/Post Mortem adventure series. It had a great soundtrack (can't go wrong with Mozart's Dies Irae)...:
...and it had a fantastic atmosphere and a great story (basically another take on Jack the Ripper).
It received "average" reviews (75% on Metacritic) so it didn't exactly do terribly, but it was one of those series that was released under the radar and it's a genre (adventure) that very few people care enough about to actively follow.
It had a few incredibly frustrating puzzles but the story made it completely worthwhile.
So... if anyone's interested in a detective-based adventure game, give the series a look. It's by Microïds, the same developer who did the Syberia series (again, if you haven't heard of Syberia, you're missing out on a wonderful adventure).
Utopia Kingdoms on facebook such a simple game yet was fun while it lasted![]()

NFS The run
Lots of people where complaining about the game and saying how they never had the right car for the stretch of road, either not very fast for the straights or didn't take the corners. I didn't mind that so much since the idea was you driving across America and last time I checked most people don't have a garage every 5ks with the same set of 20 cars. Plus any advantage of the new car is taken by the time spent switching.
The handling was ave for a NFS and if you sat down for 7 hours straight then the story and gameplay all seamed together nicely. The challenge mode was also a clever addition to keep the game alive after you finished the story. Plus play that avalanche scene with the lights out, headphones on load and you will love that finale.

I'm quite enjoying the new Simcity. I don't really mind the small city limits and so on. I created a new private region and I play in all the cities, making different specializations for each of them. So they basically compliment each other. This way my 'city' is actually bigger than it seems![]()
