If it's done really really really tactfully it wouldn't be that bad... a little professor longbottom here and a little 'the boy who lived there'
LOL would be cool to set it more in the 'adult' world. Featuring less of the school and more of other things, since her original reader base is now much older.

LOL it kinda killed the sombre dark tone of the adventure and made it into a parody, which is why I tried to make a speedy recovery from it's swift off course manoeuvre.

Hogwarts isn't the only wizarding school, though. Hogwarts merely serves Brittain and its surrounds. The US would likely have several of their own schools.

I enjoyed the books, hated the movies. They didn't really stay true to the books, especially the first 2.

Having read Fantastic Beasts - I don't see how the movie will work - well in my head at least. Will wait and see what they put together though.

I've read most of the books and watched all of the movies, really keen to see what they do with this . Kind of sad that it's all over though, maybe it's time for a marathon

I was thinking more of Scotland... I don't really want to see an American magic school. It needs to be an older country... somewhere that was around before we were all 'enlightened'.

But I'm inclined to agree with Pooky on this... the school setting won't work again and I struggle to see how anyone could have a more exciting schooling career than Harry. I think the fantastic beasts idea is pretty damn good... since Harry Potter wont exist, very few Harry Potter characters will be around (young and sexy professor mcgonagall FTW) and it's a good excuse to show lots of monsters!

I thought the first 2 were the only ones short enough to stay true to the book, and the universe was just so much more inviting... the third was like a Cradle of Filth music video set

Warner Bros is grasping at straws now.
"All men dream: but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes, to make it possible."

If your really into Harry Potter and all that jazz then Pottermore.com. I only went so far as getting my house an wand but otherwise the website is really well done all round. That's if you're into the whole HP world expansion thing

    This.

Personally, I think the HP universe should stay precisely where it is. Someone said, it's sad that it's over - it is, but I think the "end of an era" aura that the last book/movie created just solidified the good memories that the franchise gave us. There was after all a time when stories ended.
I would also prefer a book expansion instead of an CGI nightmare of a movie (I hear you like monsters, here's 3 hours of them). And for everything else, there is Pottermore.

I hope I'm wrong about this - but seeing the current ridiculous churning out of superhero movies, that's the last thing I want to see happen here.
