DS2 is by far the best game in the franchise. Refined controls, great story, great locations and fantastic atmosphere. It's a little light on the horror but as a pure survivor game with horror elements it's a favourite of mine.

DS3 was a flop, I still enjoyed it but man it was a waste of cash. Only great thing about DS3 was the weapon customization.

    I'm sad to say I haven't played DS1

    One was great
    Two was excellent
Three there is a few things I don't like for example the zealots being made into terrorists, but I'll give it a spin. (of course there is the part of buy the game twice)

Comics was not too bad and even the Books are ok. OK I'm a fan... lol.

I was a fan till I played 3. Cool action game, no more a horror

3 Kinda killed the story for me. (Dont wanna go into detail as it will contain spoilers)

Thinking about three must makes me... , sigh and I loved visceral a lot

Nonetheless I'll phew phew through three and get it out of my system.

    What you mean?

I found 3 still makes me feel tense, maybe not as much as 2 or 1. But more than the average game.

So the scare element is reduced for the sake of action?

It's an action shooter now, kinda what happened with RES5.

First game was pretty awesome...enough to keep you cursing! I have both the PC and PS3 version and both are pretty good.

The second game had more responsive controls and it looked pretty good too, just feeling smoother overall. Sadly, however, it lacked a certain bit of atmosphere that the first one included...something a little darker. Yet it was still a pretty great experience (ouch, my eye!).

As for the third one...well just too much action for my tastes (which isn't bad however I was just not expecting the heavy focus on action as opposed to that tension you felt with the previous two games). Would still love to try the co-op sometime though!
