    Question Xbox 360 Headset

    Good day all,

Just wondering what some opinions are about headsets for xbox. With me becoming more involved with online gameplay of late, I needed to chat with a friend and was getting a lot of feedback as I was using my Kinect as a mic.

So, will headsets really make that big of a difference, and if so shall I just get a one ear piece or a headset?
And what sorta brands would be best to choose from?

I have been looking at Gioteck, but I hear good things about TurtleBeach, opinions?

    Thanks,
    Beo.

Turtlebeach is really good(check takealot sometimes they have REALLY good specials), I have the razer's chimaera headset which works well for me...

Don't get mono(single ear headset) get a full headset and turn the TV sound off, you should get no feedback problems...

Best to have a proper headset really. I find stereo is fine, but if you have the budget for it, you can get surround sound and / or wireless ones.

I have the Tritton AX 180's, which I'm very happy with, and they aren't "too" expensive. Plus I can use them on XBox 360, PS3, or PC.

I use the Logitech headsets and very happy with the sound quality, very decent stereo and for R150 you can't go wrong .

I like them, good sound if mere stereo, and you can change the volume of the game and chat separately, and it can play your mic back to you so you hear yourself talk and don't end up shouting. Although with that on, I find there's a slight buzz in the quite moments like in the menus and stuff, but you don't hear it when you're in game. If turn the voice monitoring off, the buzz disappears.

It is wired, so you have to deal with cables, but decent wireless headphones are moer expensive.

EDIT: A big selling point for me was that you can use it on xbox, ps3 and pc, although when I use it for the ps3, I plug it into my TV's audio out because I can't find the old AV cables that came with it, just go through HDMI

Well if I'm not mistaken, it will plug into the bottom of the control, will it not?

So my logic tells me it would be pretty pointless to go wireless, as when playing Xbox you constantly have your control on you, so I don't see the point of wireless. Unless you put your control down and walk around with a headset, pretty doff if you ask me.

The jack on the controller is just for the voice chat, not the game audio.

So you have a long cable that you plug into the xbox, or into the back of the tv, and there is a little control box where the volume controls and stuff are, and you plug a shorter cable from that to the xbox controller.

Plus, they are powered headphones, so you need to plug into an audio jack at the xbox side, plus into a usb port for power.
