Also whilst grants may not be the wisest (/most beneficial) way to spend money from your point of view, from the governments point of view it makes sense as they're just giving out money for people to spend. It'll comes back to them eventually... with the benefit of those receiving it having a higher chance to receive an income outside of the grant itself.

I have a disability grant here, although it helps a lot it still isn't enough to not be called poor since I can't even pay rent or anything with it so luckily I stay with my parent and thats with my small salary included.

Wish they would increase the grant payments for disabilities to 2k+ but don't see that happening .
