I don't get this, its a 2.5% difference, is it really worth it. For every day you lose pay striking you will have to work another 40 to recover the money lost during the strike before you start making money off the increase.

What I want to see is a company agree to a unions demands and then present a list of employees and say well your demand was 5% over our budget, so here please choose 5% to loose their jobs next week.
Yeah that would be the best. Although they want everything for free without any consequences and no knowledge of how it'll hurt the company and hence their livelihoods at the end of the day.

Lol...my wife works for SAB...i have TOO much damn beer lying around Cant even drink it much anymore...lol

But the masses will never wake up...I call it "Sheep Syndrome" they let someone make the calls instead of thinking for themselves, so they can blame someone else if it goes wrong...not themselves. Then they want to cry about poverty /no job, and end up stealing your stuff cause they are un-employed.

The irony **Cue "isnt it ironic" by allanis morriset**

hehe. I would have used SAB, but South African Breweries moving to Chile didn't seem plausible. And with the car manufacturers it is actually a very real possibility.

Hell the latest BMW production line is *full* of robotics. In some areas they switch off the lights to save power...robots don't need light (or Cosatu for that matter).

It usually takes a couple of years to make up for the lost income.

I got that 100% divided by percentage difference is roughly the factor you use to determine how long before it becomes effective. Thus 2.5% is a 40X factor, one week is 40 weeks, one month is then 40 etc.

I wonder if there are any other strikes also happening at the same time? Has the petrol attendants one ended yet?

Well, I am glad I am not too hooked on booze yet, so I won't be having withdrawal symptoms, if times do get real bad
