I think what you people refer to in FPS and such games is tactics not strategy?

Yeeeah... That still doesn't make them strategy games.

All games have strategy elements but not all games with strategy are strategy games.

I actually think turn based is doing quite well atm after XCOM revived the genre a bit

Don't forget Frozen Synapse and Arma Tactics esp the fact that both are also on mobiles.

That Metal gear Acid game for PSP was a fun TBC game. You got cards to move across the map and then would use various weapon cards to attack the enemy. I don't know if I would class it as strategy since there was plenty of luck to the game but its was. I wouldn't mind a similar game for PC.

haven't gotten around to Arma Tactics yet. and Frozen Synapse never really interested me....
