e-Tolls

Anyone bought an e-Tag yet now that e-Tolls are going ahead? I'm holding off in hopes something changes

I have been checking out routes to drive which do not involve toll roads. Needless to say, ill probably be at the office at 4 in the morning, as I'm probably not the only one who will be taking the back roads :|

The moment the E-tolls comes into play at the end of the year, I'm moving down to CPT, so no I will not be getting an e-tag.

I have purchased an etag, it is still in it's box in the cubbyhole of my car.

i tried it for a while with my previous car and the amount of photos they take of your car, and the quality of photos they take, i cannot see that people will get away without paying. Every photo they take has a clear shot of your number plate and on most of the photos you can see the occupants of the car. If they can send you fines by taking a picture of your car and its number plate they should be able to do it using this system.

But as for me i will leave the thing in it's box and take the back roads. Will just need to leave a bit earlier in the morning.

That would be epic, but I can assure you that you will not be the only one doing that. Almost no-one I know is going to buy an e-tag. I give it about 1 month after implementation before someone burns down a gantry...

at least you can use it on any other toll road as well. Or that is what they say.
