I wont say FPS attract em, but the FPS in question does without a doubt.

    *sigh*

That's not what I said. I pointed out that it's an easy genre to get into, therefore it attracts all kinds of audiences, including assholes and l33t little children who apparently have sex with other people's mothers all day long. Why you insist on taking offence at this, I don't know.

Stating that a genre is easy to get into isn't an insult on the genre either, it's merely a statement of fact. There's nothing wrong with a certain type of game being easier to learn.

I wasn't insulting the genre in any way, so I think you're just taking offence and seeing insults where none exist.

Related to CoD, here's an interesting article I stumbled upon the other day about how CoD has killed the skill involved in FPS:

Ag maybe I read into it wrong I'll admit. Fair enough. I'll start again.

There's no denying the fact that there are a lot, a LOT of kids playing COD online, and even BF3 etc. But I dont think its generally just idiots that play. I think those same idiots are all over the gaming world in other games too, but its COD that brings it to the surface. COD is just super fast paced and therefore lends itself to people getting very worked up, very fast. That, combined with the internet and its anonymity its a combination for perceived idiocy. Why anyone would want to sleep with 90% of other peoples mothers it beyond me also.

I think the reason why MOBA's and FPS games attract the most hateful players is because of their popularity. The games played most online would probably be your DOTA's and BF3's and CoD's, which will in return attract more rude mouthed a-holes. Other "lesser" played games do have some fantastic online communities.

Problem is those games seem to attract ALL the players, so it doesn't leave much choice for multiplayer games, either you deal with those players or you stick to single-player.
