There is no way that there isn't some sort of skulduggery going on there to get that sort of warning. Apart from piracy what else would them the warnings?

How is it good? When you pay for a premium, uncapped&unthrottled product you expect to get what you pay for. Otherwise its a soft capped&throttled product. False advertising at its best.

James, I think you should contact Mweb and get clarification on what packages are affected. If they start throttling me (1Mb/s), i'm going to have to cancel and move else where.

I just read all the complaints on mybroadband. It seems like its users on the uncapped standard and uncapped premium who are being affected. I think unless you got the email from them you don't have anything to worry about., in fact your connection quality should get better since apparently people are saying its kicked in already and congestion by heavy users is being reduced.
Also it seems like MWeb is experiencing an exodus of users who are very unhappy about the lack of clarity and respect for the customer.
Nothing is permitted, everything is true.

There are always T&Cs regardless of the package.

But when Mweb phones me to try sell me ADSL they tell me they are so much better than the uncapped I have with WA because I might get throttled there but Mweb is totally uncapped and I can use all I want with no worries

So does WA not have an AUP?

Only premium users are affected...if you are on standard they will throttle you once you get past 15gb+-, always been like that.

Also the throttling is dependent on your line speed to data usage ratio. For example, if you have a 4mbps line you get a warning saying you will be throttled once you reach 120gb +-, 2 mbps 80-100 gb and so on. So if your past usage patterns were higher than their limit, you will get throttled if you don't lower it.

Ummm ok so? Not the point here .Their AUP doesn't state what exactly "abusive behaviour" is , and neither do they give you a data threshold.

So yeah, uncapped my ass. MWEB is playing dirty here. Now they get rid of the supposedly "3%" of their users that take a huge chunk of the network capacity to make space for new users who don't download so much. More money with less data usage. Good move on the business side, dick move on the PR side.
