I suppose it wasn't going to succeed in the first place and fans of the series seem to have made their voices heard...

Heh, just heard about this on The co-optional podcast.

hopefully (not gonna happen) they will take a look, replan, retool and release generals 2 as was the original plan

Glad they canned it. Pay 2 win is a load of bs. If its going to be like that just bloody release it as a proper pay once of title. I don't think anything with a cnc attached to it will be any good. It died with cnc 4.
Sad really cnc was my all time fav rts would rather play tiberian sun than starcraft.
The fact that they had a fully functioning cash shop in the alpha version of this game should really have told you enough about it. This game was destined for failure since the day EA started seeing dollar signs and changed it from Generals 2 to a F2P game.
ah man I was hoping it would be good even if it was free to play and loaded with microtransactions, well on the bright side maybe now they will release a new single player campaign.
Its got to suck for the dev's to see 3 years of work get chucked

What a pity. I really loved Generals and was kinda looking forward to this...![]()
Good riddance IMO. A free to play generals was just going to be a money pit if you wanted to play online and I'm fairly certain the sp was also gonna be bad. It sucks that a franchise I really liked is going down but I would rather it die like this than everyone ripping the Free to play model apart.
Maybe we still might get lucky and they will resurrect the game without the EA money pit model
My ignore list: n/a
The people has spoken...we are not interested in your Pay-to-Win models, so please stop bastardising great series like C&C with this filth. Read a couple of the comments made on the game, and not one of them was even remotely positive.
