National police commissioner Riah Phiyega has distributed an email to members of the SA Police Service [SAPS] asking them for support as pressure for her to be suspended mounts, the Sowetan newspaper reported on Thursday.

Phiyega faces charges of defeating the ends of justice after a formal complaint was lodged with the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid).
