First you heard it as you approached.
Than you tried killing it and failed.
And then finally figuring out that it reacts to sound and vibration.

For me, the stand-out part of a stand-out game.

Very rarely feel embarrassed. But, yes - some embarassment, perhaps.

You read too strongly into my post.

The Last of Us made me embarrassed not to own a PS3 tbh.

Slightly back to the original topic. Mirror's Edge amazed me to have existed. I enjoyed it, but it literally made my flatmate throw up. I mean, what were they thinking? Was it only being play-tested by gymnasts and fighter pilots who dabbled in parkour?

That's why they had the blue dot in the middle of the screen. Their research showed that it reduced the motion sickness symptoms.
    My ignore list: n/a

I used to struggle with motion sickness as a kid, so I learnt all those tricks to curb it and therefore did that instinctively, but I can guarantee you that wasn't the case with everyone :-P

I know what you mean; the visual took a few minutes to get used to but that was mostly because of the colour palette; I didn't actually suffer from the motion sickness. But honestly I liked how they implemented it, drew me into the world in a greater way than the story could hope to. Actually made me believe I was moving through the world

Lol...yeah it felt awkward in the beginning however the actual combat sequences made me sicker than that...if they eventually do bring out a Mass Effect 2 (well they're working on it right?) then I just hope they improve the combat.

Yeah baby - having re-played HL2 and it's episodes recently I'd settle for a new Portal game at this point but sadly I think they have just a bit too much on their plates at the moment to really care about Half Life however I'd love to be proven wrong.

Vampire masquerade. Bouncing boobs, great sound track fun missions and side quests. Great horror references and the water looked great
Fully agree on the original Half Life, I wasn't expecting much when I first fired it up however once I'd gotten into it I just couldn't stop (which is kinda what guaranteed them a sale of HL2...pity that at the time Steam was a bit sucky right up on launch - I think it took me over 8 hours after install from disc to get the think "unlocked" - thank Jeebus that dial-up is no longer the only option). Very few games do that to me these days (well The Last of Us was also fantastic...am almost ready to go through it again for the 3rd time) and so I'll always look on most of the older games as something very precious.

As for Vampire: The Masquerade I just loved that game - both my GF and I played it through together at the same time and we just couldn't get enough of it (sure it had it's flaws yet it was this precious little gem that I wish I could forget about just to replay it all again from scratch....well that's actually true of all of the games mentioned above). Plus yeah, who doesn't love some bouncing boobs !
