Well considering that behind all that coding embedded within the PS3 some good actually came out of it and I still have not seen a single movie or game that has been blu-ray pirated yes I've seen HD movies but it doesnt really mean that it came from blu-ray

    Pass.

My wii has been gathering dust for a year now.

I'll be buying New Super Mario Bros. Wii, play it and then sell my Wii.

Good luck Nintendo. I suspect after getting robbed once with the Wii, people are not going to be so keen to buy into your marketing gimmicks again.

I'll probably be queueing up with Wii in hand for the next installment of Nintendo goodness and quite happy to try out the next "gimmicky" controller.

There's one born every minute. ;-)

May have to look at getting a small HD tv though.

I think it is great for people who like the wii.

I think the issue that Nintendo is going to face with the new Wii (if there is such a thing) is that Sony is releasing their motion-controller next year and Microsoft is going a step further with Natal where your body IS the controller.

Nintendo got caught with their pants around their ankles and should have done something a lot sooner. It's too late now in my opinion.

Either way, this does sound quite exciting. I think of the 3 consoles the Wii is the most in need of some new technology. And the rumoured additions make the Wii sound like a much better option to me.

Ooh, I like it And I am one of the people who likes the Wii damnit

Of course I'll be quite upset if I now have to buy another wii to replace my current one really soon... new console fine but not a year after the last one.
Dib: You can't make me look! I'll just shut my eyes.
Zim: Oh, you'll open them. You have to breath sometime.
Dib: No, I - Wait... What do eyes have to do with breathing?

Sounds great and all, but I don't see how Nintendo can compete.
With Sony releasing a motion controller and already cornering the HD gaming market, Nintendo seems to be playing at the point, third fiddle.
The Wii doesn't seem to have the scope of games and advantages that come from a PS3 or Xbox360. The only thing they can do is sell their Wii at a lower price, but who knows how much that will help in the end.
