Super Mario Bros 3. Changing into a raccoon and flying away for the first time was epic. Got it for my birthday in the year it came out...
I even had it on game gear. I preferred the game gear version funny enough.

Of course there were so many that I can remember growing up...Dune II was another that I spent way too much time playing.
The first game i played that really got me hooked to gaming was the very first Duke Nukem When it was still duke Nukem not that crap we got the last time round
