RIP Winamp old friend. It is a shame that you have to go. You will be missed.

    Damn, that's sad.

Still use Winamp, used it even before it was a thing, hell I even use Audacious and XMMS before that on my Linux boot because I am so use to the Winamp skins/look.

Guess I need to mirror the classic skins on my HD now before its all lost foreva.....

Edit: Forgot to mention, I am still rocking 2.95 could never get a liking into the new skin/look oh yeah and all that bloat....

    Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo o!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe it. I pretty much only use winamp (other than to rip stuff, for that I use Itunes). Does anyone know of any good, viable alternatives?

    Good night, sweet prince.

Winamp ushered in my interest in music, way back in 98/99, along with a cd full of mp3's that I got from a friend. With that, I started listening to more and more music, to the point where I wanted to make some myself. I played with eJay (thank you, PC Format!), and I picked up an old guitar. I got guitar pro, tabs.co.za, saved up for an electric and amp, ultimate-tabs.com, harmony-central.com, and the abominations that are /r/music and /r/guitar.

I've played in bands, in church, by myself, to myself, at parties, in studio's, in theatres, and in clubs, and my entire musical journey can be traced back to getting winamp and a handful of shitty mp3's from that friend.

It's been a good ride, friend llama. It's been good.

I miss Sonique. I always preferred it to Winamp. Loved the early skins and visual styles. Fond memories

I only recently started using it after I read it had a good auto tag function - I hate it when my files aren't tagged but hate doing it.

All my friends swear by it.

That is why I stuck to 2.95 From http://www.oldversion.com/windows/winamp/

Do yourself a fav and try it... it still works like a dream even on Windows 8.1
