MP3 Volume Limiting Software
I think I saw a piece of software that does this, but cant remember the name....or I might have been mistaken at what it does. Uncle google is trying hard to understand me but failing...
I want a piece of software that allow sound above a set volume. That is possible right?
MP3Gain. Found it the second I tried to google some more.
Also, cant delete the original post...
Oh well, someone might need it some day.
EDIT: The app seems to permanently modify your sound files. Does doing this in real time take too much resources?

Have you tired using the volume slider on your OS, or turning your speakers softer
Please let us know what it is you are trying to achieve, perhaps there is another way?

AT @TBlaar, ja ja, I'm talking to myself again, keep thinking ppl can read my mind like the wife does...
at work, for when I listen to music or watch something, I'll be working and all of a sudden the sound will skyrocket. I then have to jump to turn it down. I would like some piece of software that keeps the sound from going over a certain preset level.
(EDIT: My brain is weird, I have to keep something open on the side to concentrate...so its not all day cinema at work.)

MalicE, is that the Volume Normalization? Cuase I've played around with it in MPC.
Think I'm doing it right, will look it some more.

Sounds like you need the normalisation yes, where it will keep the decibel output constant even with changes of volume in the actual tracks.
VLC and WMP should have this built in. Winamp also does.
Is Replaygain what you are after? If so, Foobar2000 can do scan for replaygain of your mp3s and create a tag with the relevant level for an album/track.
