I've made peace with the fact that Ubisoft is going to milk the AC series, but please don't milk the pirate setting. AC4 is great, but I don't want to do the same thing for the next three games.

It does state that they want to do a pirate spin-off. How can more pirate games be a bad thing? Black Flag is pretty much the only decent pirate themed game on the market. I for one want more pirate games so I say milk away Ubisoft.

I, for one, enjoy good things in moderation. The renaissance setting in the previous games was fun, but it got stale with repetition pretty fast. I don't want another three or four pirate-themed games for the exact same reason.

Milking something is never a good thing, because it eventually grows stale.

To each his own then, AC has never and probably will never become stale to me. If they do make a pirate spin-off and you've had enough of pirates, just don't buy it then.

I would like to see more pirate games as well, but then they need to bring something new to the table each time. Making the same game in the same setting does get repetitive fast. But for now, more pirate games is a good thing...

If they make a new AC game please do it from the ground up, it's all feeling very old and creaky after 6 years. Time to innovate and move the series forward or stop making it altogether.

As for a pirate spin off, maybe one, but lets not make 17 of the bloody things...

They should definitely fix the land-based gameplay. The only saving grace for AC4 is the naval aspect, otherwise it would likely have tanked.

Because let's be honest, the land-based gameplay consists of doing the same things we've been doing for the past 5 games and it never really improves. Melee combat is still a bit crappy and the freerunning is as finicky as always, with your character more often than not doing the exact opposite of what you want them to do.

Can't say I've had any issue with the free running, it has worked great for me. Personally I won't mind other AC IV instalment, one extra game isn't gonna make the whole thing stale yet.

As for land based gameplay tanking, really? I see nothing wrong, it's AC, it's meant to be like that. You don't buy a FPS to hug trees, just like you don't buy an AC game and not expect stealth and trailing (its one of the assassins key traits to spy on the Templars).

Plus the game hasn't even been released so can you really be saying it's a write off before we've even seen a trailer or even a photo.

*holds thumbs that the next AC game is as good as AC2/Brotherhood*
