Some countries may not see an Xbox One before August 2014 despite stock being available

It's becoming clearer and clearer that the PS4 is the console for South Africa. Not only does it look to be the better console but we don't even get a choice.

As a PC gamer this worries me a bit with regard to exclusive releases. Let me explain the scenario as I see it unfold:

XBone loses ground against the PS4 because of (very) late release in some regions. MS need to win back fanbois, so what do they do? Strike deals with developers to release games as XBone exclusives that were not originally planned to be exclusive releases. Sony retaliates in kind and *boom* before you know it, the closest thing to a AAA release on PC this time next year is a "Sims: Sewage Plant" add-on and five new COD games.

Or maybe I'm just over thinking this and need another cup of coffee.
One day, I'll grow up and become responsible.
    Probably not today.

I think you are over thinking a bit (bad pun)

There will always be console and PC exclusives, it's a fact of life. On the other hand with XB1 being so limited who is going to make games for such a small market? They could make exclusives to attract a potential buyer... Oh! I'm sorry XB1 is not available in your county it will be soon (not likely), making the customer jump fence to Sony's camp. I work in retail and we sell games usually people are quite announced on what platform/console they support, hear a lot of buzz around the PS4 (friday is D-Day) but absolutely nothing on the XBOX ONE other than it's not coming soon.

By March 2014 the PS4 will be in almost every country worldwide. Larger customer base equates to more money from selling games.

im really not bothered as im not planning on being an early adopter this time round, i'll rather wait for the hardware to be more refined, a bit cheaper and have a bigger selection of must have titles before im committing to any next gen console.

I agree with you, but I'm also not going to wait until 2015 before I enter the next-gen console market. I gave myself a cut-off point until next year April. If the XBOX One is not in SA by April 2014, then I'm buying the PS4. I'll buy the XBOX One at some point when it's in its 2nd phase of hardware design and perhaps a bit cheaper. But my main console will then be the PS4.

M$ is definitely playing second fiddle in my house by the looks of it. PS4 -> here I come!

Guess i'll be getting me a PS4 then so sad about Forza 5 and there goes a lot of peoples Christmas ideas out the door and a lot of birthdays are going to be delayed too i think will look at the second batch of PS4's that hit SA sometime mid year or even next Christmas so that most of the bugs and issues are hopefully sorted. and hardware issues killed.
