Yeah, give it time. Right now is that horrible transformation period where they will still try make games for the current gen and next gen so as to not lose revenue and in the process dumb down games and just dont get the most out of the new consoles. I'm not full on board with that view, they knew the implications of releasing a next-gen. The fact that they've not really accounted for a smooth transition, is silly. It was their 4th time around the block after all.
I think we are still a few years away from seeing true next gen all games will be cross platform for awhile still.Look for Uncharted 4 and halo 5 to be our first look at next gen graphics.
Its the same argument that consoles have been holding back PC gaming. The current gen's are going to hold back the next gens for a little while. However, because they are x86 platforms it will be way quicker for them to adjust, but it'll still take time to get the most out of it all.
Could I justify spending R6000+ on a console at the moment, nope.
Especially since:
1. I've got more than enough games at the moment to play (the joys of a backlog)
2. Game prices have increased and are ridiculous at the moment.
3. Not enough games that appeal to me, might consider getting one when they release The Order 1886 later this year.
That's just my 2cents
Im sort of in the same boat, I could go buy one today, there is a shop across the road from where i work which is selling them for R6,800, but im not sure if i want to drop that money on a console now when the game prices are like R700-800 a game, and Extra control is R1000, so altogether your dropping about R8500 if you want a game and another remote. I have so many games on PC to get through, not sure if its even worth getting yet until the prices drop (They are probably gonna get worse on the next wave that comes through).
Just hard to justify spending that money when its not needed, and im not bored with what i have yet.
Anyone have any idea how many were sold in SA?
Educated guess...around 6000-8000 consoles
