Same here. Not only am I having internet problems that's making it difficult but GOG can't seem to handle the load either.

Yep its turn based. I know there was some mod's to play em in the newer engines but its still work in progress. Also the older ones are not open world games.

That said, I still think 2 was one of the best in the series.

Say what? They were open world games in that they allowed you to go anywhere you want, whenever you want. You have to travel using a map, but the world is still your oyster.

I generally kind agree with Fallout 2 being better, but I still like Fallout 1 more. Fallout 2 improved the gameplay, but I enjoyed the story and locations in 1 a lot more. It was wacky, but not as over-the-top, bat-shit insane as Fallout 2.

Every time it has gone on sale, I think "next time". And that has been for the past couple years. A lesson in patience... lol
