A 19-year-old man appeared in the Itsoseng Magistrate's Court in the North West on Monday for allegedly raping his 10-year-old neighbour, police said.

The matter was postponed to February 10 for a further bail application, Colonel Emelda Setlhako said.

In December, the man asked the girl to accompany him to a nearby village and she agreed, Captain Pelonomi Makau said at the time.
