    Default Old Laptop

My laptops going quite slow these days when playing games and a lot of fps drops and overheating causing it to shutdown so I think its time to upgrade to a new laptop since I have had it for like 5-6 years or so.

Any suggestions on Acer laptops in 20k range since its my trusted make and I like Travelmates and 17" screens when using it away from home where I don't have my 32" TV.

Also has to play current games and do CAD and GIS.

I thought i had a decent gaming laptop, (Acer Aspire 5750G, I7 2.9GHz Intel Core, NVIDIA GeForce GT540M {2gb dedicated ram}, with 12g memory) but its not doing its job, I play World of tanks, and i struggle to get 40fps, so my suggestion, make sure your chip is greater than 3GHz, and your ram at least 12 - 16GB, also with a decent 3D card, and make sure you regulate its heat shutdown manually (its the 1st thing that dies on you...) Do not necessary go for an I7, Windows doesn't even support I7 so I5 does the same. If i had R20k ill go for a allienware, they are the best gaming laptops. Last but not least get yourself a decent laptop cooler, I got myself logitec laptop cooler, that has speakers mounted on and a cushon to place it on your lap, its quite nice.

    Good Luck

    PS. Rather get a desktop

I got one of those Incredible Connection Laptop coolers long ago and doesnt seem to make a difference so may look on ebay for a cooler and will keep your info on hand thanks .

The games I play mostly is League Of Legends and WoW and with the new Diablo 3 and WoW expansion I will need something very good as the graphics will get way better so like your suggestions

You can try an alienware make. Most of their stuff is made for gaming, not the best prices unfortunately.

Are they available in shops since the reason I go for Acers is that they have dealers in town so can order anything and upgrade anything inside

Phoned them and they said they can get alienware stuff for me if I tell them what specs I want so any suggestions?

Stay away from Alienware unless you got the dough. They look great, but the price: performance ratio is off the charts.

This is the best bang for the buck you can find.

Where in town do you buy? It's a pain only knowing about Incredible and Matrix computers.. I still order from Zaps, rather than support those!
