Ah shame, speaking in front of an audience like that is not easy. Have you ever done it before? If I lost my notes I would have probably curled up in the fetal position and died...

You know, I actually respect him a bit because of this. Everyone makes mistakes... but if he is this bad at "winging it" it just goes to show that everytime he speaks in public, he has to prepare and it doesn't come naturally to him. It takes real guts speaking in front of an audience like that when you're not a natural speaker.

Public speaking - something you can't slap an explosion over.

Its difficult for some & the only way to learn it is by falling flat on your face...a lot. Not fun.

Oh well, he is only human and sometimes we make mistakes. Hopefully he's the type to take the onslaught of jokes that the internet is now going to provide.

    Haha, mine was a joke.

I am definitely not a public speaker, I had to make a best man's speech once... After the first joke, people laughed and I walked off

Shit, I hate speaking in front of people, even though I do it once or twice a year. This must've sucked.
    That's what she said.

Thank goodness I've never been scared of talking in front of a crowd. It's something that comes naturally to me. The only time I freak out is when I make a joke and it goes WAY over the audience's head. Also, I have a very bad tendency of going off on a tangent and then forgetting what the heck I was on about in the first place. Kinda like Eddie Izzard, without the clever comeback to the original point lol.
