Just a random tip, i could buy this game from here:

    http://www.greenmangaming.com/s/gb/e...crolls-online/

and using this coupon here: http://venturebeat.com/2014/01/30/el...20-off-coupon/

    and pay this:
The Elder Scrolls® Online: Imperial Edition - PC $64.00
    Payment type: PayPal
    Savings: -$15.99
    Total $64.00
You can do the same with the Standard Edition .

Use it, don't use it. Note it is USD where if you buy directly from Zenimax it will be in EUR and costing a freaking fortune!

As for my beta experience so far, it is initially quite "meh" , but it grew on me the longer i played, so i think it will be a good 3 monther, i really need an MMO to play, so this will be it.

Thanks for the buying tip ;-)

Yeah, same, need an MMO to play, a new one. I used my ebucks to get half of the cost done on Takealot. My next concern is the client, anyone know a download site for it? Will take me 2 weeks or so to DL 30gig. I hear the beta client will be patched to release.

I don't know. It just feels too generic for me. Been there, done that. Especially with it being a TES game i expected more. I'm looking forward to Wildstar and The repopulation later this year though. Until then i'll stick to SWG and TOR.

Found meself a beta key, now the question remains for me: will I still be able to continue downloading this monster client after the beta weekend?

Oh just some more impressions from my beta experience:

I rolled up 3 classes and admittedly was rather bored with the first 2 islands. Fortunately it seems each alliance have their own starting island? (not sure whether it was race or alliance, but i played 2 different starter islands) .

It is not bad, it's just not anything new or fresh. The only thing that kept me going was learning the class mechanics and combat that got some interesting things going. There was one interesting quest that came straight out of The Secret World with riddles and running across the map figuring directions, which was quite nice.

Anyhow, when i hit the 3rd island (i think this is the mainland rather than an island) things seemed to open up and i actually got more hooked (which is surprisingly the opposite to what usually happens in MMOs) . I felt a little more interested in what's going on. So this is a positive. Tutorial + first 2 islands are cookie cutter linear quest chains , which is not very inspiring but gives an idea what the game can do. Admittedly this is feeling alot more like a "world" as opposed to instanced action-RPG , Neverwinter which i've played the most the last year.

The graphics are pretty good, i was initially pretty excited about the first person combat thing, but realised it's not working very well for me. For example, you can't see the fact that the enemy is doing a special move (you know the red circle / fire / block / sign indicating you should be moving out of the way) , because this is showing on the GROUND (where you are obviously not looking in First Person mode). So i dunno, Zenimax need to change a few things if they want that to work. I pretty much switched back to 3rd person so i can see all this. Not sure whether i miss some setting or just doing it wrong, but it felt like a big oversight to me.

The world feels very Bethesda authentic, it has that rather mundane realism to it, which can be good or bad depending on where you come from . I suppose if you are use to WoW or GW2 with all these crazy vivid environments that can range from forest to purple outlands then Elder Scrolls will be rather meh in comparison. I primarily experienced sandy/desert and semi jungle/tropical environments, and knowing Tamriel, i won't expect things to become too exotic other than building architecture and insides of ruins.

Overall, i think it will be a good ride for 2-3 months at least (which is all i need at this point) . I have not tried the PvP yet, but the RvR/Siege stuff does look compelling.

At least i did not see anything glaringly wrong or missing in this game.

An accurate review, diabolus. I'm going to play again this weekend, but I'm not 100% sold that it is, in it's current state, worth R 579 (R 1158 in in our case) + R 1953.12 a year (R 3906.24 for us!) I only say this because I'm already paying subs. A few of our clan members have preordered, so Unsane and I will probably wait for feedback from them before making the purchase. I've never had good experiences with early access anyway, so I don't mind the wait.

    @Reavs
    Couldn't have said it better.
I'm also following/waiting for the Repopulation as well.

If anyone is interested few people have been asking me and suggested Gamers Haven should make our own guild for The Elder Scrolls Online and most probably Wildstar as well on release.

If you are interested let us know on our website

90% of everyone's main story quests still bugging out, game still freezes when coming out of crafting mode, combat still feels extremely sticky ... armour sets look like they've been body-painted (and the high level armour sets look hideous). The game doesn't feel launch-ready AT ALL! This is definitely going to be a 'wait and see' for Unsane and I ...

Yea almost any quest that has some form of public mob/object that needs to respawn bugs out. This weekend was particularly nasty for me, i swear they upped the difficulty or my character was just a total gimp . It took me ages to get it to lvl 10 so i can try the RvR (especially with all the broken quests).

Anyhow, RvR, i was mildly enjoying it, but it's pretty much same old same old. It felt a little more streamlined to me than GW2 in the sense that getting around the map just felt easier and getting siege weaponry up felt wayyy easier and faster, despite the maps being super huge. I didn't feel any performance issues, however it is pretty much a zerg feast. I also did not feel very useful as a melee character, like every other RvR game out there, most of the fighting happens at range.

Overall, if they can fix up the damn public quest nonsens, it is still a pretty fleshed out game methinks. I'm just a little concerned with the blandness, or rather , how alot of the zones look the same...kinda like Skyrim if you know what i mean. I dunno if it's going to become old too fast, kinda like being stuck in the WoW Barrens or Desolate Lands too long...sure there is alot of quests and the odd interesting cave, but overall it's all very similar looking.

I did notice there are some sort of phasing thing going on, i'm not quite sure how exactly it works, but i know for a fact when i killed some Wyrm Tree boss (it was in a solo dungeon) that when i got out the area (which was part of the open zone) was actually in a "the village was saved" mode, as in, no more aggro mobs anywhere around the place. So this is quite neat. Unfortunately it seems other players ended up in that same phase without having finished the quests...so some bugs to sort out.
