Will you be interested? South African Gaming Servers

Shirou you seem quite knowledgeable on servers. If I wanted to host a Minecraft server is the cheapest way through something like Multiplay servers?

Just looking at the prices for the player slots you can see that minecraft is most probably resource and bandwitdh dependend reason for the high prices, also depends what your plans are for your minecraft server.

If you plan to host for about 10 players or more, i would rent a server from a GSP or if you have your own dedicated server set one up instead.

If you just want to play on it yourself and 1 or 2 friends.. host it on your PC

I could most probably host Minecraft, but i already have something eating my resources.. Starbound server and then the WoW server i host, if i would get paid to just host game servers for the community i would buy another server anytime, but currently it's all coming out my pocket.

I am still not sure what you guys want.

a) Are you guys more interested in renting your own game servers to be hosted in South Africa.
b) Are you guys more interested that i host several game servers requested just for playing on them.

I'm interested in playing on one and would love to rent one but it appears that costs can get quite expensive and I'm a student

Though, for sparse communities like ARMA,MC etc. option A will help you sustain the server side of things.

hmm, yea still thinking this through and how todo this which will work out and if people will support it.

Idea is to get a domain, and perhaps a forum where all the listed game servers that will be hosted be advertised on with the teamspeak server, so then if someone are interested they then just go there and get the server info and come join on the server and teamspeak.

You could always get a ts channel on someone else's server... But i guess a dedicated ts server would be quit e a lot better

So far what is happening is that i am looking what are the most popular games to host servers for, if we get our hands on it, specialy new games and get a server up where we can all enjoy together on, and the more we grow and play together the more we learn each-other and as new games come out we jump on that and play it again and hope to throw in another server as new games pop out
