between the 2 the specs on the PS3 are insane , but as a PC gamer i think the ability to improve / upgrade is great plus the price of games PC your looking at new titles around R300
PS3 around R550
Long run it adds up , plus as mentioned you need a HD screen else you rather get a PS2 on a CRT cause the PS3 can be made to work on CRT but looks Crap.
A decent Pc rig should cost you around R7500.00
