I'm looking forward to this. I remember the original from my earlier days of gaming. I really enjoyed the game despite it not getting the most amazing reception. We used to play the MP at lans, now it looks like I can relive the good old days just in HD.
I will give this a try in england. I doubt anyone will be playing it here.
You'd be surprised. I think there will be following in SA for this, not a huge one, but there should be interest since it's free and doesn't have any F2P aspects. I'll put up a server for it as well once it's released
I enjoyed the vibe of the first one...MP mechanics were broken, but it had some potential.

It also has a skirmish mode with some pretty good bots to keep one preoccupied with until a few local servers pop up
