I finally found what i was looking for, in the form of http://isthereanydeal.com/

It brilliantly collates all the best specials around from a huge number of digital distributors and keeps you posted. you can even import your steam wishlist and get notifed when stuff goes cheap online :-)

what i also dig is that it shows you historical pricing, so you can see what's the cheapest its been in the past to work out if its a good deal or not.

just thought i'd share this and find out of you guys use any other means to track bargains and sales. I swear, i think i enjoy the "deal" more than the game

I go one step further and use Steam enhanced edition. Works with Chrome and Firefox and links Steam with http://isthereanydeal.com/ mentioned above.

Basically it turns this old view of steam into this with all the info you need from isthereanydeal, be it specials, bundles or historical low pricing and even color coding what games & DLC's you have(Green) vs your wishlist(blue) and more.

Edit: Oh and to watch for bundle's as they come out, nothing beats Bundle tracker
