I like the way PC is slotted into the 'previous gen' when it's actually more capable than 'next gen'.

10 internet points says he is talking BS. There is zero chance of them pulling off this combo without it being some sneaky word-play (bolded):

All texture resolutions have been created at 4x resolution
    Native 1080p gameplay
    TRESS FX technology
That being said, subsurface scattering is a solid addition. As is bundling all the DLCs into one convenient pack.

I'm willing to bet that a lot of PC gamers are going to be gobsmacked when they see this version of Tomb Raider on the PS4 next year. If they've done as promised, this game might properly showcase what these next-gen systems are capable of whilst highlighting the Achilles heel of the PC gaming world - Optimization based on standard hardware.

Thats an understatement. I can see them pulling off the switch to native 1080...but not while quadrupling texture sizes at the same time.

    We'll see I guess.

Bit curious though that they promise these changes for both the consoles. If true it implies they found an extra couple hundred percent performance on both fronts. Hey...might turn into an optimization case study.

Doubt it, it is just catch-up to the PC version, however they still need to justify it so that's why we have the marketing speech.
