Default Takealot Daily Deal : NFS Rivals + Headset

Saw this today, and though I'm not that big into racing games, the price does not seem bad for what you get.

Got this tip over on SAGamer. When going through the payment process, add "shop2014" as a promotional code and get an extra R100 off your purchase. Bought this bundle for a friend, tried the code and it worked. So R799 all in all, not too shabby.

I know it's a silly reason, but the headphones being wired would kill the deal for me. I just can't be limited by cable length in today's day and age

True, but does the DS4 controller not have a port for the headset?

The headset plugs in to your wireless controller, so only limited by how far away you can sit if you want. I also initially thought the headset needs to be plugged into the console.

Oh wow this I did not know! Don't know how I've never heard of this . That changes everything then. Is it the same with the PS3 controllers? Or only PS4?

The PS3's DS3 controllers do not have the mic port like the PS4's controllers, so no, won't work like that. The PS3 has a wireless earset that uses Bluetooth for ingame comms if you are looking for something like that? That does not carry over ingame music though, just chat.

Thanks was just curious whether I'd avoided all the PS3 wired headsets in vain when they could've actually been plugged into the DS3 xD. Good to know that isn't the case. Good to hear the DS4's allow this though, it opens the door to not having to pay thousands for a good wireless headset.

Yeah, was thinking the same. Hopefully there will be other bundles coming out soon. Not the biggest NFS fan and wouldn't mind such a bundle with Tombraider coming out.
