Philip Seymour Hoffman found dead
Police say Oscar-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman has been found dead in his New York City apartment. He was 46.
Hoffman was found dead Sunday afternoon in his Manhattan home. His cause of death wasn't officially determined.
Hoffman, who was no matinee idol figure with his tubby, lumpy build and limp blond hair, made his career mostly as a character actor. He was nominated for Oscars four times in all, winning in 2005 for "Capote."

Sad news. I really enjoyed his portrayals of characters in movies. RIP
Omg.. I just watched Synedoche, New York where he played a lead role.. Saddest movie ever. After watching that I wouldn't be surprised that he killed himself. Depressing as shit movie, made me tear up and that's very hard to do. It's weird that I watch that movie and find out he's dead a day later.. makes it even more sadder.

Sad news. I caught only have the news bulletin this morning and thought it was Dustin Hoffman at first. Can't say it's any less of a shock when I got the whole story. I just never pictured him a junkie, but apparently it's been a problem when he was younger. A quote of his from IMDB:
(On quitting drinking at age 22) I think I would have drank myself to death, literally, if I didn't just stop, once and for all when I did. I am not ever going to preach to anyone about drugs or drinking. But, for me, when they were around, I had no self control.
One day, I'll grow up and become responsible.

Very sad. He was a very talented actor and so young!
