Default Dungeon Keeper Mobile is junk

    No surprises here:

Dungeon Keeper Mobile Review - Wallet Reaper | Reviews | The Escapist

It's bad even by the usual standards of mobile "free to wait" games. The Simpsons: Tapped Out let you do at least a bit more before launching its psychological warfare on you. Dungeon Keeper wastes no time in attacking the player with its harassment for cash. It can't wait to employ its focus-tested blitzkrieg of harassment and mental waylaying. From the very outset, its heartless endgame is communicated clearly - it wants your money, and it wants you to give it that money in exchange for nothing. Even worse, it actively laughs at you while it pries open your wallet, cracking self-aware jokes - it makes fun of in-app purchases, then assails you with them anyway. Because fuck you.

cynically motivated skeleton of a non-game, a scam

Sums up most of these mobile games. And bigfish games that I am currently playing on pc.

This says all you need to know about the abuse of EA re Dungeon Keeper.

    NSFW rant in Vid below:

PS: if you really want to play the game that badly try the original for $5.99 over at GOG and this the full game no unlocks or micro-transactions needed

Yup I've downloaded it and you can see while your still in the tutorial how they want to take your money. It's a shame really, Dungeon Keeper 1 & 2 were awesome... I suppose we shouldn't expect anything less from EA

It's made by EA in 2014! What did you expect?
When an anti-piracy method is affecting the game for people who legitimately bought it and causing other people not to buy the game, there is obviously something wrong with it!

Am I the only one who likes the concept behind these types of games? With the waiting option they give you the opportunity to take a break from playing and not spend hours on killing your battery.

Its very similar to Clash of Clans and I'm liking it.

So glad we still have War for the Overworld to look forward too. The way EA misused the Dungeon Keeper name is almost depressing.

Had a gander at this on the weekend. Uninstalled it after 5 minutes, and went back to playing DKII

I also made the mistake of downloading this. At first it looks like a mobile version of the original, but every thing you do takes ages. Literally just digging a block of dirt can take up to a day.

It is best to think of it as Clash of Clans with a DK skin. If that doesn't make you shudder then I don't know what will.
