Most likely this would be the rumoured "discless" model? How else would they be able to drop the price so quickly?

i would say redesign of the pcb, but that already looks like its efficient in its design. i agree probably the drive being phased or a reduction in ports, removal of wifi or the hdmi pass through etc.

Who knows, maybe SA skips out on the initial model and goes for the "slim" But then again, it's been awhile since I've seen pigs fly.

Knowing SA, we will not even see the Slim models anytime soon.. Still like 7 months left before the initial model hits our shores! Recently bought myself an xbox 360 250gb slim that sits under my PS3

It makes sense, because the cheaper console is selling a lot more units at the moment. I understand that they have additional hardware costs...but that is giving the opposition a sizeable advantage in terms of pricing.
    That's what she said.

Have to agree with this. While there are many people out there that are able to buy both, and show off their hardware, the vast majority of the gaming community is strapped for cash. And $100 in the states is not like R100 here. It's a fair amount of cash.

With the options available to the American market in terms of media, the xbox should actually beat the PS4 in terms of sales due to it's all roundednessness.
