Holy smokes....The prices at TechImport are not bad at all. Looking at their Dell 27" 2560x1440 monitor. I paid R7400 for mine 2 years ago...and now the newer model is even cheaper. Good stuff![]()
My ignore list: growing too fast to keep updating.
Awesome news! My card is arriving in SA tomorrow! I got heads up from Albert, I'm glad I have gone with him as his lightning fast response times have kept me impressed with his service and he even offered me alternative Gigabyte and Asus cards.
This Sapphire card had better be worth it I've waited long enough for it.
@BlackDragonSS I couldn't bring myself to reply to your post as I was extremely green with envy
I'll let you all know when I have it in my grubby hands.
And exactly how did you try to contact us?
I have received no e-mails or private messages related to Tech Import. Our phone numbers are quite easily discovered via the contact info page and yet I have not received a phone call. No snail mail or faxes either.
It's already suspicious to appear out of nowhere to advertise your website, and immediately annoying to misrepresent the site admin by suggesting we ignored your attempts to contact us, which from my point of view, were non-existent.

Glad 2 hear it, now hopefully everything goes according to plan...
Just an update here, I received my card and boy is it fast! I can highly recommend the Sapphire Tri-X OC R9 290, you will be pleasantly surprised with it's build quality and performance. I have had it for quite a while now. The only bummer was that I ordered the BF4 edition but it didn't arrive with the code. I've spoken to Albert about this and he has promised to order me a code.
I'm still waiting but I think he will come through, soon I hope!
Yeah they are fantastic cards, Rebeltech has a massive special on them at the moment..almost tempted to get one myself.

Hi Guys
So this thread is pretty old but I'd like to update it for future customers of TechImport and completeness. The card is going very well, Sapphire make great cards!
However I'm not happy with the customer service I received from techimport / tech import (not sure of their naming) anyway the low down is I ordered the Sapphire R9-290 BF4 Edition which came with BF4 on the 5th of February, there was some hold up as stock was very constrained but eventually I received my card. I'm fine with the delay as Albert Nel did explain it and was very good in keeping me updated.
I eventually received the card on the 18th of March, my issue is that only after receiving the card did the missing BF4 coupon come to light. I had received an earlier email from Albert stating that he could only get the BF4 edition of the card and I confirmed that's the one I wanted.
After receiving it I notified him and he changed his story to that of the supplier no longer including the BF4 coupon. I wasn't happy with that so I mailed his earlier reply and a current (at that time) screenshot of his website still offering the card with BF4 abck to him.
He was very apologetic and promised to send me a coupon, this never happened. I mailed him numerous times and for each he had an excuse and a promise to sort it out soon.
The last correspondence I had with him went unanswered, that was on the 28th of May. I've given up on ever getting BF4 from him. It's a real pity as I had nothing but positive praise for techimport prior to this debacle.
In my research I knew I was dealing with an early start up and that it was a little risky but I checked him out and he seemed very genuine.
I recently had an opportunity to build up a behemoth of a gaming rig for a friend of mine. A Core i7 3930K, 32GB Ram, Sabretooth X79 (wrong board in the pic), water cooled H100i, EVGA GTX 780, Corsair 600T, speedy Samsung 250GB 840 EVO etc came to around R60k
If I had received that BF4 I know I would have recommended purchasing some or all of the components from tech import. Goes to show that even the little sales can lead to bigger things. I hope his service improves or has improved just be sure to double check everything with him and as always if it doesn't work out, complain about it.
