SA is definitely not ready for discless consoles, so I doubt it would make it's way to our shores. I shudder to think about the future, having to download 100gb games in SA.

We are not really their target market after all. Then again < insert devil > you can't really expect everyone to wait on our development, can you ?

For all the uncapped adsl users, but the reports are that digital games will be taxed soon, hmm, which kinda sucks.
If anything happens to the hdd, you'll lose your games and have to download them again, whereas a disc you know you have it safe on your shelf.

Thats true that you have the disc as backup but games nowadays have such huge updates and patches that the update might be larger than the game itself rendering the disc useless.

If this were to come to SA, internet has to much more reliable, affordable and faster for an average user to take advantage of the disc-less xbox one.

I highly doubt this will happen and if it does it will only be for the usa.

if Microsoft had a feature as good as ps+ i would go for this option any day.
I've been gaming disk-less on my ps3 for about a year and half now.

It would be a difficult sell to the average Joe on the street. Someone that hasn't been exposed to a platform like Steam will find it difficult to adjust to disc-less gaming. For us that should not be a problem. We all hear have Steam, and I rarely buy PC games from a store on disc anymore.

I'm really glad they are flirting with this idea. I was a fan of it way back before their infamous 180. But now, they have to ensure that their packaging of games on Xbox live is so appealing that you wouldn't mind foregoing on your discs.
