    Default Johannesburg Roads Agency flash flood update



    In a press release issued today (3 February 2014) the Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) cautioned residents to take extra care when using their roads today, to ovoid low lying bridges, and to note the latest update of flooded areas:

    Elias Motsoaledi Road and Main Street Dobsonville the road is flooded
    Mahalifele Drive in Dube - Low lying Bridge the road is flooded.

    We had a flash flood last year as well, never been so bad. I made a video while we were driving through the streets on our way home:

    Yikes, that looks serious Alien. Where is the first pic taken of? And which river is this that has flooded?

    Being in the short term insurance industry, this sort of thing means big losses for somebody and one or more of the insurance companies having to respond quickly to the woes of another.

    What's funny, is that in Three Rivers, Vereeniging it hasn't been anywhere near to what it was in the past.

    Looks insane up north though.

    HA! I used to travel that every single day. And the alt route was just as bad. Really doesn't help when there are massive trucks carrying steel taking up a one lane street. :/
