Default Remote controlled robots to mingle at 2014 BAFTAs

Random news I got via email that interested me ....... Cool idea or further entrenching the couch potato?

Two ‘fanbot’ robots will be present at this year’s BAFTAs to allow fans to chat with stars on the red carpet from the comfort of home using new telepresence technology.

Selected film fans will be able to control the robots and ask the stars questions using EE 4G video calling technology.

Why no arms so that one can greet the stars and maybe cop a feel lol.

This is pretty interesting - makes you wonder what what we won't be able to do from home (I guess we'll eventually end up like that one movie with Bruce Willis in it...can't quite remember the name). Anyway I also remember Sheldon doing this in one of the Big Bang Theory episodes too:

And there will be one troll who will start saying "you suck" to random celebs, I have no faith in this.

The potential for abuse is too damn high!
