I'm actually quite surprised that it hasn't already.

The thing is, I was a die hard Xbox fanboy up until they announced the Xbox One.

I couldn't fathom why they would screw over their fans with the DRM and Kinect connected at all times deal.

Then they had that horrible PR incident where they said "If you want a offline console, then you want a Xbox 360"

Finally when the dust settled they decided to remove the DRM thing, but by that time I was already over them.

Got a PS3 last year and I've played one or two games on it, really not bad at all. Enjoying Journey and Beyond Two Souls.

But I'm still not convinced that I want to buy a Xbox One for R7000+.

    Have to agree with this.

I have been a PC gamer for years, and eventually went to console about a year ago. Having had both the 360 and the PS3, it was a massive step down from my GTX680, but fun nonetheless.

Anyway, I have been placing images side by side for a few weeks now, and the PS4 is superior graphically. It doesn't play music...yet. Otherwise it is 100% made for gaming, and not a family entertainment device. We as South Africans can't benefit from half the features of the Xbox, so why even bother? It's cool for what it is, but this is the next-gen battle, and Sony has pulled in front by a large margin.

I guess it's not surprising, considering the perceived value of the PS4 vs the Xbone, but it isn't necessarily a good thing that the lead is that big. Can you imagine what would happen if PS4 has no competition anymore? They'll be able to do whatever the hell they want.

I have to say, the PS PLUS offering is another HUGE reason for Sony dominating this gen. It's way better value for money than LIVE GOLD.

I for one will definitely buy A PLUS sub after I win the MyG ps4

Well I'm only against them because they screwed us over back when the PS2 and original XBox launched - you see I was going to go fro the XBox back at the time however their failure to launch here left me opting for the PS2 instead...ever since then I have this grudge against them. Also in this case with their initial screw ups (which they've since made a 180 on) I just can't help think that they were never thinking about the gamers to start off with.

For January 2014, the NPD estimates the total US consumer spend to be $1.05 billion
Wowza - that's a lot of cash...what happened to the "go slow" Jan/Feb months following Christmas and all that? Probably just the excitement (and the power of Visa) of the new generation consoles.

I wonder if people will be able to justify the price of it considering we all complaining already about the PS4 price. Just because of pricing I don't think it will do so well
