I agree completely. There are a few things which should have been added as well:
1) Gaming companies telling consumers what they should like and not like, instead of listening to what they want within reason. I'm not saying listen to every rant, but when enough people ask for Simcity to be offline, make it offline. Same goes for Diablo III.
2) Yearly releases - no real reason to release the game, except to stabilize the budget.
3) Free to play phenomenon - everybody jumping on the f2p phenomenon will learn a very hard lesson once people realize how much money they are actually spending and what they are getting for it, compared to the previous model.
4) Games aren't complete on release day - and often take years to reach a proper level of development - BF4 for example.
5) Dividing communities by deploying DLCs too quickly - when a DLC is announced within 6 months of the release date it really should have been included in the game for free.

I agree with every point you make but I still dont think the market is gonna crash people forget that a couple of months ago a certain game came out and sold 30+ million.I do agree that companies have to be more aware of what consumers actually want not what they think we want.

Yep, but it won't go on like that forever. I don't think it will be a major crash, more of a re-alignment. Big studios will go under and we will see lots more small studios appearing and prospering. Things like Kickstarter will be a massive driving force.

The industry was tiny back when it crashed. Now its huge and needs a few things to change like dlc. I wish they would rather bring back full blown expansion packs that were worth the money not this day one dlc bs.

Well I don't think that the collapse will happen but I don't think it's directly imminent. Companies just need to learn how to actually acclimating to the radically changing market and then they can weather the storm.

Was going to say... Cracked has been around since the late 2007, it was originally a magazine from the late 50's.
