Thread: Anti Aliasing on the PS4

Default Anti Aliasing on the PS4

    Hey guys,

Been trying to find real world examples of this, but can't seem to find any.

The #1 thing I am looking for gaming lately is the AA capabilities of a console, PC, whatever. With the PS4 slightly beating the Xbox in AA, I figured, hey, it's a winner. Now, with that being said, the examples I am seeing are are not screen captures, but rather game captures. If that makes any sense.

Does anyone know, or has seen any screen captures of the AA on the PS4? As in a dud in front of a TV with a camera. I will be playing on a LED 24" Monitor, so the 1920x1080 will be sharp. I have always felt that the monitor is less forgiving to the AA capabilities, if there are even. PS3 was just freaking terrible, could hardly see any detail at all due to the shining white dots.

Kind of all over the place with this post, but hey. Anyone have any screen shots of a game showing the AA of the PS4?

Is it so bad that no one wants to talk about? Like that ugly step child?

Just the resolution being 1080p makes quite the difference.i know Killzone Shadow Fall uses FXAA+TMAA which is Ok for a launch title but The Order 1866 uses 4xMSAA which should produce a good image.I don't think aliasing should be a problem on Ps4 or Xbone.

Went to go and buy my PS4 off a dude. Plugged it in, had a look on the 50", and it was STUNNING!!!!

All this talk about PC being so superior is freaking rubbish! And this is me coming from GTX680's. While PC has the advantage, the way guys carry on is pathetic.

This console is freaking amazing. Aliasing is basically non existent.

Ok well how about you get BF4, plug it in on your screen and then compare it to my BF4.

    Stoneage vs The Future

While we are at it, Get Thief and Watchdogs when they launch.

Cross Platform, PC is FAR superior.

    1080P LOL

Edit: Yeah I am being a super troll, but nonsense like that isn't true. It can't compare to a gaming PC, Never will. The hardware in the PS4 isn't even in the same league.

Edit 2: While we're at it, The PS4 can't maintain 60 Fps, not even close. It might get a high of 60 but not a avg of 60, so they pretty much just lie to you as well.

    Edit 3:

Enjoy your R8000 card to maintain your 60fps. Oh snap, I want to break 120Hz like all my other homedogs. Lets fork out another R8000. CPU bottleneck? Eish, R5000. List is endless.

R12 000 min to build anything above a PS4 that is worthwhile.

I never said that the PS4 BEATS the PC. So please, no putting words in my mouth there sonny I can buy second hand games for the same price as your games.

Its a pointless argument. What I am trying to say, is all you PC fanboi's do not give the PS4 it's due. It is a bloody awesome piece of machinery for a R6000 price tag.

Not to mention the best backward compatibility ever.

How much are AAA titles on PC? I'm talking AAA titles. I can get PS3 games for R40. so I don't see what the issue is. Then there is also PSN+. Yes, there is a premium of a massive R40.70pm. Free games. And not some terrible indie titles either. Games aren't tied to accounts. Which means I can buy a dudes whole collection. For next to nothing. And sell it again. Making money.

Personally, I will stick to 4 games a year or so. I am more MP orientated. One thing I will miss, is GW2. That's it.

Backwards compatibility means nothing to me. If the title is older than say 5 years, the chances of me playing it is very, very slim.
