My PC is on 24/7, downloads and updates are scheduled between 23:00 and 05:00 as I generally sleep during this time and seldom play games at that time of night. The only annoyance is if (especially TF2 does this often) releases an update at 18:00 and I want to play at 19:00 but the bloody servers wont allow me to connect unless the latest update is installed. But then I play something else and everything is back to normal in the morning.

I hardly use my PC at all, unless I'm working on some digital art or playing a game that I bought on PC (very rare as I prefer consoles), so my PC is off most of it's life. I switch it on when I need it, and switch it off again when I'm done. Poor thing gets very little attention .

My PC stays on 24/7 as most of my downloads I queue between the hours of 12-7am

I turn my computer off most evenings. My computer is next to my bed so with the blinking lights etc it stops me from sleeping unless I put something over the front of the computer to cover the lights, obviously not very good for the computer so I try avoid it by turning it off.
contact me if you are in Cape Town and looking for PC Hardware at very competitive pricing. We also do web and graphic design.

I normally switch my computer off when I'm done. A couple times a month I might leave it on overnight if it's downloading or rending something, luckily it's super quiet so it doesn't bother me

A laptop actually has a much lower power draw than a desktop, so if any pc should be on all the time, it should be the lappy! I'd use one for an HTPC if I could find one cheap enough.

Not anymore.eletricity costs are going into the R1600 mark and now I literally switch off the house before leaving to work.
