Konami has officially confirmed that the PlayStation 4 version of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will run natively at 1080p while the Xbox One version will run at 720p.
The information comes via a current-/next-gen comparison article published by Konami, which aims to highlight the difference between console generations. It also shows that while there is disparity between resolutions, the game runs 60 frames per second on both Xbox One and PS4.
There is one table, however, that directly compares both 'next-gen' machines:
Last week Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima praised the PlayStation 4, saying it was able to render at 1080p at 60fps "with room to spare".
He even went on to say the PS4 was the better of the two consoles. "I think, between the home consoles available in the domestic market, the PS4 is the best," said Kojima.
"Since it does it a little better than other hardware, the image quality of the PS4 is the most beautiful. It’s the closest to the photorealistic quality we are aiming at."
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will be released on March 18th in North America and March 20th in Europe.
