And in my opinion, if you cannot get a reasonably clear idea of a game by reading previews, watching gameplay trailers, watching other people play the game on streams and reading reviews, then you need to learn to think and assess information provided to you. I'm sorry, but these days we have more information available on games before they have released than ever before and the information available to us is more than enough to form a reasonably accurate opinion on something before you play it yourself.
If I had to play every game in order to see if it was worth it or not, there would be absolutely no need for reviews or the like. If you cannot judge roughly what a game is going to be like before you play it, there is something seriously wrong.
That said, people have different standards. My standards are just higher than most and therefore I won't waste my time playing something that, by all indications, seems to be horribly mediocre.
