I do agree there. My GF watches like one channel (TLC) and we're already on Compact. Seriously considering switching it off and going for a paid internet service. Because apparently that's totally illegal.

    EDIT: Screw monopolies.

I have DSTv because I pay R260 per month for it (connection at Media24 ). For this price, I cannot say no. I spend a lot of time watching DSTV and TV, much more time than I spend on gaming, as I can watch a show with my wife but when I game, I am unsocial.

None is better than the other, one may suit you better than the other suits you....

DSTV is and always has been a gigantic rip off much like everything in SA. Also as mentioned earlier, there are tons of sales on Steam, Gog, Humble bundle on a monthly basis. Then there also the F2P games, specifically Loadout and Dota 2 which are both utterly brilliant and time sinks.

The only thing DSTV has that I enjoy is sport and even my interest in that is swaying.
just stream the sports ! there's quite a few legitimate sites that does that

If you find a gud link let me know. Can not watch F1 as my moms dstv is lower package with no sport. And i am not going to pay R800+ for 2 hours of tv every second week.

If you're lucky enough to find whatever you want to watch. 90% of the time I watch DSTV, there's nothing on any of the almost 400 channels I'm interested in watching.

I'd much rather just download whatever I'm interested in watching. Ain't nobody got time to wait around for something good to watch.

I must say Gaming will be cheaper than this as there is not many people buy 2 games a month so i should say it will cost less to play pc games.
