Heh. A guy in my office maintains the move from 8.1 to 7 was an upgrade.

We have dual graphic card Dell laptops...their Win8.1 drivers kills the machine, forcing a safe mode prompt to remove the AMD drivers.
    That's what she said.

Windows 8.1 is crap but I must admit, it is alot faster than windows 7 and there are benchmarks to prove it, it's not much and not enough to change from win7 to win8.

More or less 1-3 FPS difference in games between Windows 8 and Windows 7

The thing that still bother me about Win 8 is the interface, I've been using it on my work laptop and I hate it, it feels like a butchered user interface. That imho, I know a lot of ppl like it, but I dont. The start button added in the Win 8.1 upgrade....what button, just drew a block and added 4 more options.

I know you get custom start buttons, but thats beside the point.

I've seen the few fps increase in Win 8, but I'll gladly sacrifice that for just being able to have Win 7 installed.

AlphaJohn, I have this thing against messing with my OS. I've learned years ago, after trying to make my OS look "pretty" with all kinds of skins and what nots. Dont do it, I keep my OS as unmodified as possible. It saves me from loads of hassles. I know changing something simple here and there might not seem like a big thing, but sometimes a little thing messes up big, I've learned that personally a few times.

I hate these custom windows installs and UI modifying apps.

I think they are behind many of the issues gamers have and blaming on broken games instead of their own fiddling.
